Each Division will start with a guaranteed 3 Games in Pool Play. Pool Winners from each Division will be seeded in Single Elimination Brackets on Saturday and play until there are two Division Champions on Sunday afternoon. Division Championships will be played Sunday @ TBD. We will continue to guarantee each Team four games and the Teams that do not play in the Single Elimination Championship Brackets will play in the Consulation Bracket on Saturday & Sunday. Tournament ends on AUGUST 3, 2008.
All games will be played at, REDONDO HIGH SCHOOLS, MEMORIAL FIELD, in Redondo Beach;Harbor College's newly renovated O'BRIEN STADIUM & BANNING H.S.in Wilmington; SOUTH H.S., Torrance; CARSON H.S, Carson; HOME FIELDS and RBI's Facility at LA Southwest College; Dennis GILBERT Field. Carson High's field is lighted, Banning's this spring and there will be night games everyday. Championship Games on Saturday/Sunday will be played at Harbor College, LA Southwest College,Palos Verdes, South, Carson and Banning HS along with Consolation games at the other fields.
On Friday, August 1 @ 7:00PM @ Colt Stadium, Carson HS there will be RAWLING'S "STING" HITTING CONTEST, MIZUNO "FASTEST AROUND THE BASES" CONTEST; WILSON "AROUND THE HORN" CONTEST AND DIAMOND "OUTFIELD RELAY" CONTEST WITH PRIZES. There will be no games scheduled at that time. .
AWARDS In addition to the traditional T-shirt & Trophy for the 1st & 2nd Place Teams in each Division, The Division Winners will receive FREE ENTRY in the ’08 Tournament [$595.00VALUE], Winners in the Past have received the following awards-BASEBALL RESOURCE – PLAYER PROFILE [$60.00ea player/$1,200.00 VALUE]; each Division Wining Head Coach will receive the MARRIOTT PROPERITIES "CHAMPIONSHIP MANAGERS" PACKAGE. RAWLINGS, WILSON, EASTON, MIZUNO and DIAMOND SPORTS equipment for each Division winner/MVP. GLOVE DOCTOR MVP PACKAGE
The ENTRY FEE is: $595.00 and is due on or before June 15, 2008. A ROSTER of not more than 20 PLAYERS [program roster] must be submitted by the same date. Entries will be accepted on a earliest post mark when the cut off time comes. PLAYERS must be entering their SENIOR YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL OR YOUNGER to play in Division 1. Players in Division 2 are eligible if they have played college baseball. Roster substitutions can be made up to the start of your 1st game. California High School Rules will be in use in Div 1, 2 & 3, which include the Designated Hitter and starter re-entry rule and a courtesy runner for the catcher

TOURNAMENT REVIEW
8th Annual "BEST in the WEST" WOOD BAT CHAMPIONSHIP'S
22 Teams from throughout California competed in the 8th Annual Championships. This Tournament continues to attract some of the top programs in the state. This years slate is headed by the Thundering Herd from ELK GROVE HS, Elk Grove, Ca. Central California's 2005/2006/2007 CIF SECTION CHAMPIONS. A nationally ranked program that has won 4-Section Championships since the turn of the Century along with the 2003/2004 "BEST in the WEST" CHAMPIONSHIPS. EL SEGUNDO HS, El Segundo, Ca. and Legendary Coach John Stevenson[1,000+ Wins, multipule CIF Section Titles, 2005 champ, 2006 finalist] joins us for the first time. 2007 CIF SECTION CHAMPION, LOYOLA HS CUBS, Los Angeles, Ca. returns along with 2006 CIF SECTION CHAMPIONS, PALOS VERDES HS[B.I.T.W. CHAMP 2005] and LAKEWOOD HS, Lakewood, Ca.[B.I.T.W. CHAMP 2006]. Traditionally strong programs from LOS ALAMITOS HS, Los Alamitos, Ca. [2007 AMERICAN LEGION SECTION CHAMPION], Torrance, South Torrance, El Torro, San Clemente, Peninsula, Mira Costa, Carson, Banning and Redondo Union HS[B.I.T.W. finalist 2006] return to fill out the line up.
The LA RHINOS[18U] Team returns from a disappointing defeat in last years finals and try to win it all.
The WILMINGTON RATS, return to defend their title after there predecessors started their JC Careers with a Conference Title.
Division 1 saw the San Clemente Tritons defeat the Sea Hawks from Redondo Union. The LA Rhinos came away as the 18u champion and then Wilminton Rats successfully defended their title.
